Interpath and SilverBack, Award Finalists

As the day draws closer for the ASP Industry Consortium’s announcement of this year’s winners for the second annual ASPire Awards, both IT monitoring solutions firm, SilverBack Technologies Inc. and application infrastructure service provider Interpath Communications Inc. are celebrating their news on being chosen as two of the 14 finalists the Consortium announced on Monday.

In October, five winners will be chosen by five members of the independent review board, also announced on Monday, who will evaluate the finalists in each of the five categories based on their honor to best practices in the application service provider (ASP) industry.

Interpath, headquartered in Research Triangle Park, NC., has been selected as one of three finalists in the Service Satisfaction category and according to Joel Schleicher, chairman and CEO of Interpath, the firm is thrilled to have been shortlisted for what he believes is the most important category: “This nomination serves as industry recognition of the tremendous effort everyone at Interpath puts forth to provide our customers with the highest level of outsourced application development, integration and hosting solutions,” he says.

Similarly, Dan Philips chairman and CEO of Billerica, Mass.-based SilverBack Technologies, says he is honored the firm has been selected as a finalist for the Management and Operations category. It is Silverback’s second year to be chosen as a finalist: “It marks another milestone, illustrating our ability to deliver to mid-sized and Global 2000 companies the best IT monitoring solutions available in the market today. Working with a number of leading ASPs over the past year, our software-based IT monitoring solution provides ASPs and their customers with a reliable way to track real-time and historical information on faults, assets, performance and security across their entire IT environments,” he says.

The other three categories are: Delivery and Enablement; Innovative Technology — Wireless and Integration. Entrants submitted case studies demonstrating how they met each measure of performance as determined by the Consortium’s Best Practices Committee. Members of the Committee have selected three finalists in each, with the exception of the Wireless category, where only two entrants have been chosen.

Gopsan Madahill director of product management for Agilent Technologies, who chairs the ASPire Awards Committee says: “The entrants in this year’s ASPire Awards have all illustrated the outstanding value proposition presented by the ASP computing model.”
