theglobe.com, Earthlink in Distribution Deal

Online community theglobe.com today announced
a distribution agreement with EarthLink Network aimed at providing users with Internet access.


CD-ROMS will be distributed by theglobe.com that provide instant access to
Earthlink and will default automatically to theglobe.com’s Web site. They are also available to those who respond to the company’s commercial, which is now showing now on cable and network television in the U.S.


Under the agreement, Earthlink will be highlighted throughout theglobe.com site as well as in the Internet Services section of the Marketplace. A $25 set-up fee will be waived by Earthlink to new subscribers of theglobecom’s gold membership service.


“Over 100,000 people a month have been joining our community-because we
allow individuals to customize their presence on the Web, while providing
them their basic on-line services. By partnering with an ISP we are
completing the full service package that has attracted our loyal user base,” said Stephan Paternot, president, theglobe.com.


theglobe.com claims a member base of 1.3 million.
