Roger Smith Software this week released Arrow version 1.3, the mailing list server for Windows that enables developers to create and manage interactive mailing list discussions directly from their PC.

The software uses a standard e-mail account to send and receive messages. Subscribers can choose to receive individual copies of each message that is posted to the list or they may receive digest versions of messages.

Arrow processes control messages such as Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest, etc. automatically. The list administrator is also able to redefine existing commands and create new commands. The list can be customized by modifying any of the system messages (such as Welcome, Goodbye, Help, etc.) which Arrow automatically generates.

Arrow features an Explorer-like interface, a new list “wizard,” and an extensive help file that simplifies the set up and maintenance process. Additional features include the ability to require confirmation of subscriptions, a utility for reporting abusive or inappropriate e-mail, and a scheduler that enables the administrator to run Arrow unattended.

Arrow 1.3 has a retail price of $50 and is available from the Roger Smith Software Web site. A free trial version is available from the Arrow Download area.
