Bluestone Software, Inc. today announced the availability of Sapphire/Web for IBM DB2 Universal Database, an end-to-end solution for deploying Web applications across the enterprise.
Developed in conjunction with IBM, the product is a combination of Bluestone’s Sapphire/Web application server framework and IBM’s DB2 Universal Database. According to Bluestone, this is the first fully-scaleable, Web-ready database application development environment to become available for the DB2.
The product is aimed at small- to medium-sized organizations, and is sold exclusively through IBM BESTeam value added distributors (VADs) and traditional value added resellers (VARs).
Bluestone said the Sapphire/Web solution enables companies to utilize the functionality of the DB2 Universal Database solution on the Web. As a package, Sapphire/Web and the DB2 Universal Database are able to deliver the scalability and robustness needed to deploy existing applications and build new applications for a Web environment.
