Outblaze, the
instant portal company, and Graffiti,
the free online community powered by Outblaze Friday announced they are
offering free CGI accounts.

Webmasters can now go to CGIrealm and obtain a 1 megabyte CGI account,
which can work together with any existing Web site. Accounts at CGIrealm
are free — the only conditions are obtaining a membership at
Graffiti and displaying an image/link back to CGIrealm.

We went through the sign-up process and worried a bit when the Graffiti
membership (for email accounts primarily) said it was for non-commercial
purposes, but the CGI account was specifically listed to be separate from
the Graffiti account.

So this seems like an ideal situation for many Web developers who want to
use CGI on their sites but don’t want to jump up to the next level of their
Web provider’s hosting fees.
