Internet billing and customer management software and
services vendor edocs this week unveiled
XMLDirect.

XMLDirect is a formatting engine that enables the rapid deployment of
applications that transform legacy bill, statement, trade confirmation and
other transactional document data directly into XML without requiring
programming code be written in languages such as C++, Java, or Perl.

XMLDirect enables companies to quickly and easily
transform transactional document data into highly structured XML formats, while simultaneously
generating XSL format stylesheets.

XMLDirect leverages edocs’ Data Designer, a graphical environment
designed to enable the rapid development and testing of rules for extracting
data from complex, unstructured data file formats (including legacy billing
formats).

XMLDirect builds on BillDirect, edocs’ packaged
software solution that transforms transactional content into personalized,
interactive communications to enable enterprises to practice customer
relationship management and marketing via the Internet. Companies using
BillDirect include American Express and GE Capital.

edocs provides Internet billing and customer management software and
services designed to maximize customer relationships by enabling Web-based
billing, customer self-service, targeted marketing, and secure content
distribution. Its products are used worldwide by companies in a variety of
industries including consumer credit, utility, and billing services.
Customers include Southern California Edison, Boston Edison and Moore Corp.
