A recent alliance between Intraware and Object Design adds Object Design’s eXcelon
product line to Intraware’s intraware.shop. Intraware customers can now demo
and purchase eXcelon online, and receive the product electronically.
EXcelon is an XML-based application development environment for building
and deploying e-business applications. It includes a suite of graphical
development tools, connectivity tools to leverage legacy systems, and a data
server for storing, managing, querying and delivering XML information.
The intent behind the Intraware/Object Design partnership, according to a
statement issued by the two companies, is for collaboration to enable them
to accelerate and simplify the delivery of XML-based solutions.
Intraware is also including Object Design’s eXcelon Stylus, a
professional Extensible Style Language (XSL) editing tool, in its XML Starter Kit. The
XML Starter Kit is an XML product bundle designed for corporate developers.
In addition to the eXcelon Stylus XSL stylesheet, the XML Starter Kit
includes a dynamic XML server, an XML editor and XML schema tool, and
training in XML. The XML Starter Kit is priced at $1,250.
Pricing for eXcelon ranges from $199 for the eXcelon Stylus XSL editor to
$15,000 per CPU for an eXcelon deployment license.
Through its online try-and-buy program and demo center, intraware.shop
seeks to help IT professionals evaluate and purchase products efficiently.
EXcelon can be found on Intraware’s Everything XML Web
page, which provides information and analysis of XML technology in addition
to selling the products. Other products sold on Everything XML include XML
Pro v.2.0 from Vervet Logic and XML-Server from Bluestone.
