NetObjects, Inc. announced the availability of NetObjects ScriptBuilder 2.0 for Windows NT/95, the company’s script development environment for the Web.
The privately-held company also announced three new distribution and co-marketing agreements with industry leaders Netscape Communications Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, and Lotus Corporation, who will all offer the product to their customers.
Since its introduction in February 1998, NetObjects ScriptBuilder 2.0 gathered momentum by winning the Cool Tool of the Day award and being
downloaded by several thousand Web developers.
The product is a powerful script editor that combines rich development tools with a point-and-click environment to enable rapid creation of both client and server-side scripts. NetObjects ScriptBuilder is currently used by customers at leading corporations including Boeing, Merrill Lynch, and Gateway 2000 who attest to its open nature and ease-of-use.
The three new partners will support NetObjects Scriptbuilder 2.0 in a variety of ways. Netscape will sell the product online through its Software Depot, while Netscape DevEdge, Netscape’s popular site dedicated to developers, will host a 30-day trial version of the product.
Microsoft will promote NetObjects ScriptBuilder on the Microsoft SiteBuilder Network. Members of the SiteBuilder Network qualify for a special 60-day introductory price of $79.
Lotus intends to make NetObjects ScriptBuilder available through its Lotus
Passport program, the company’s volume license program for corporations
acquiring selected Lotus software and support.
In addition, ScriptBuilder is included in the recently-announced
NetObjects Fusion ProPack, a suite of best-of-breed products and components
designed to advance the creation of e-business Web sites. The NetObjects
Fusion ProPack will be available in May, 1998.
