Intranet Solutions Introduces PDF Conversion Tool

Aug 30, 1999

Looking to increase intranet functionality, IntraNet Solutions Inc. Monday rolled out a new PDF to HTML conversion capability for its Intra.doc! Management System.

IntraNet Solutions (INRS) worked closely with Adobe ((ADBE) to incorporate Adobe’s Document Server technology for PDF to HMTL conversion.

The tool converts PDF documents into HTML (including those that have embedded GIF or JPEG images) and displays them in a standard Web browser without having to use Acrobat Reader or other client software. A toolbar is provided for users to easily navigate and search for content without invoking a helper application, the company said. It works with standard operating systems, including Windows NT and Sun Solaris.

“With this PDF to HTML conversion capability, we are making it easier than ever to publish more types of information for wider use across an enterprise,” said Daniel Ryan, vice president of marketing at IntraNet Solutions, Inc.

Pricing for the conversion tool starts at $15,000 and is sold as an optional module to the Intra.doc! Management System for Windows NT and Sun Solaris environments.
