Avid Technology, Inc. announced Monday its streaming media publishing application that Avid ePublisher.

Using a drag-and-drop interface, Avid ePublisher creates full-screen web experiences in which multiple elements on a web page are synchronized with the video. This allows creation and delivery of interactive multimedia content directly to the Web, CD and DVD. Pricing begins at $550.

Avid ePublisher lets users easily create and publish interactive web content combining streaming video with HTML content (graphics, images, URLs, animations, etc.). ePublisher combines traditional video editing with Avid’s new Link & Sync interactive editing capability, as well as a profile-based encoding and publishing technology that allows users to create a single project and publish it to a variety of digital formats (Web, CD and DVD) at the push of a button.

“With Avid ePublisher, professional communicators can now harness the full power of the Web for their video streaming content,” said Alan Hoff, product manager for ePublisher. “It will eliminate the multi-step, multi-tool process these new media content producers typically employ to create this type of video-enhanced, HTML-based interactive content. Because ePublisher creates HTML-based content, it is easy to publish this content to the Web, CD or DVD for applications like eLearning, Corporate Communications and other Video-On-Demand (VOD) uses.”
