Seattle-based computer peripherals distributor Bodelin, a division of Apple reseller Computer Stores Northwest, Wednesday claimed that The ProScope handheld USB it distributes for Japan-based Scalar was a hit at MacWorld New York.

“We have seen huge interest from a wide variety of users including education, physicians, scientists, coin and stamp collectors, forensics, law enforcement, manufacturing, printing and more,” said Peter White, National Sales Manager for The ProScope.

Bodelin said The ProScope is a professional level product that can be used by a first grader. The bus-powered scope works with both Macintosh and Windows, capturing still or video images with a click. It comes with USB Shot 1.0.1 software and a 50X, fixed focus lens. It can save images in a variety of formats and capture video in QuickTime. Optional accessories include a variety of lenses from a 1X camera lens to 100X and 200X power lenses. There is also a C-mount adapter for those already using microscopes with C-mount lenses.
