MENLO PARK, July–Broadbase Software , a
leading provider of e-commerce analytic and marketing infrastructure
applications, announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to
acquire privately-held Panop.com, developers of state of the art
real-time interaction technology. Based in Palo Alto, Panop.com’s real-time recommendation engine
produces context-sensitive, personalized recommendations across Web, WAP
devices, e-mail and call center interaction points, extending Broadbase’s rich analytic platform with
the ability to dynamically recommend and serve appropriate content or
products in real time.

SAN JOSE, July 7–Cisco Systems announced
a definitive agreement to acquire privately-held Netiverse of San
Jose, Calif. Netiverse is a leading
provider of content acceleration technology that enhances the performance
and functionality of networking devices. This acquisition supports Cisco’s New World strategy to offer its
customers a broad portfolio of content networking solutions for the
delivery of web content.

PITTSBURGH, July 7–Black Box announced a
merger with Ascor bvba. Established in 1985 in Mechelen, Belgium,
privately held Ascor provides technical design, installation and
maintenance services for premise cabling and related products to customers
throughout Belgium. The merger with Ascor will give Black Box Belgium a
complete range of phone and on-site technical services, which include
premise cabling and related networking services. The purchase price has not
been disclosed.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., July 7–Motorola said
that it has agreed to acquire privately-owned software firm Suncoast
Scientific in an all-cash deal. The terms of the deal, which is
expected to be completed early in the third quarter, were not disclosed.
Suncoast, based in Shalimar, Fla., develops business management software
used by large enterprises, state and local government agencies and
municipalities.
