Computer Associates International Inc. this week
delivered Unicenter TNG Web Management Option 3.1 (WMO), a solution for
tracking site activity and helping to maximize the performance and
availability of e-commerce sites.

WMO integrates the management of Web and back-end systems, allowing users to
maintain end-to-end service levels for e-commerce sites that leverage
back-end systems and applications, the company said.

New features include enhanced activity analysis and reporting tools, real-time discovery of missing and poorly performing hyperlinks, and flexible
URL-specific polling capabilities.

“Our clients are using Web sites as front-ends for entirely new types of
revenue-critical e-commerce and extranet applications,” said Yogesh Gupta,
senior vice president of product strategy.

“WMO is instrumental in ensuring
high availability and peak performance of those applications, both by
monitoring the behavior of the Web components themselves and by linking those
components to the full range of enterprise resources that support the
application.”

WMO continuously analyzes Web site usage and activity to assess the
effectiveness of a
company’s online presence. It offers ready-made graphical and tabular reports
that provide statistics and demographics on site traffic and visitors —
identifying trends such as who is accessing the site, when they’re accessing
it, and which content areas are drawing the most attention.

It also scans Web sites for missing and slow links to help ensure that site
visitors don’t encounter problems.

It supports Web servers including Apache,
Microsoft IIS, Netscape Enterprise Server, Netscape FastTrack Server, and Sun
WebServer. Supported platforms include Intel- and Alpha-based NT, HP-UX, IBM
AIX and Sun Solaris. Pricing data was not disclosed.
