DSL equipment vendor Copper
Mountain Networks, Inc. and automated service provider Syndesis Ltd. have joined forces to offer services to Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs) and other DSL deployment companies.
Copper Mountain and Syndesis will co-develop automated provisioning and in-service asset management solutions.
The two companies are also offering an interface that provides
connectivity between Syndesis’ NetProvision Activator and Copper
Mountain’s family of DSL products.
Using standard network
management interfaces, Syndesis has integrated its NetProvision service
creation and activation applications with Copper Mountain’s CopperEdge
DSL concentrators and CopperRocket
customer premise equipment (CPE).
Through this integration, service providers can create differentiable
end-to-end DSL services with varying service level agreement (SLA)
parameters and automatically activate the service. This solution gives
service providers the scalability needed to profit from the rapid growth
of DSL.
The combination of Copper Mountain’s advanced DSL products and
NetProvision application suite is intended to reduce subscriber activation time
to a few seconds, offering savings for DSL service providers, according
to Martin Steinmann, Syndesis’ VP of marketing.
Capable of managing thousands of CopperEdge concentrators, Copper
Mountain’s management suite supports remote configuration, fault
analysis, and performance monitoring capabilities.
Syndesis’
NetProvision suite of applications offers a unified provisioning
interface that allows in-service asset management, service assurance,
service creation and activation for multiple technologies such as DSL,
IP, VPN, ATM, Frame Relay, and TDM.
