Airbiquity, an integrator of wireless voice and data solutions for mobile devices, and InfoSpace, Inc. announced an agreement in which the two companies will jointly market location based, audio wireless services.

Under the agreement, the companies can offer targeted audio content for wireless devices linked to a caller’s place of origin.

“InfoSpace’s application infrastructure services, coupled with Airbiquity’s products and technology, will provide network operators in the telematics market with quick access to location sensitive information,” says Ed Petersen, InfoSpace’s senior vice president, wireless equipment and devices.

The implementation of the partnership will allow wireless users to access audio location-based information, such as restaurants, gas stations, movie theaters, and more.

“Service providers are demanding that more personalized and targeted information be delivered to wireless devices,” says Stacey Black, senior vice president of business development for Airbiquity. “Airbiquity’s solutions will enable wireless users fast and easy access to location-sensitive information.”

The alliance will take advantage of a variety of Airbiquity enabled devices under development, including wireless handsets, wireless accessories, and PDAs, as well as wireless devices available in automobiles
