If this was Disneyland you’d have an ‘e’ ticket for endless rides up and down the rollercoaster called ISDEX as Internet stocks once again succumb to the forces of gravity today. ISDEX value is 544.12 with a change of-27.66(-4.84%) today.

Market snapshot:

  • barnesandnoble.com plans to go ahead with its initial public offer, according to the Associated Press. The Web-based bookstore, backed by Barnes & Noble (NYSE:BKS) and German media giant Bertelsmann, has come to the pre-IPO inflection point before, also in a weakened Internet stock market. Look for my report.
  • Prodigy (NASDAQ:PRGY) expands into Mexico through its alliance with major shareholder Telmex, which will change the name of its ISP service to Prodigy Internet de Telmex. The ISP claims 150,000 subscribers in Mexico. Second-largest is Infosel En Linea with about 50,000.
  • Exodus (NASDAQ:EXDS), one of the leading Web hosting providers, teams with e-business solution firm Inventa to create e-business systems. I think the move could bode well for Exodus as it looks to expand its menu items of corporate hosting solutions.
