Australian retail giant Coles Myer, in partnership with GlobalFulfillment.com, launched
[email protected], a music area of its main site featuring about 169,000 CDs,
cassettes and albums, with plans to offer up to 1.5 million products during
the next quarter, including include videos and DVDs.
The move is one of the first steps into e-commerce for the bricks-and-mortar
retailer. The site lists the top 10 CDs in Australia, offers product by genre
and provides a search function and features a New Zealand-Australia currency
Product sourcing and fulfillment for [email protected] will be provided by
GlobalFulfillment.com, an L.A.-based international fulfillment provider that
recently established distribution hubs in Tokyo and Sydney to speed delivery
to online shoppers in the Pacific Rim.
