Television network and Internet investor NBC Wednesday formed a strategic alliance with Sandpiper Networks Inc. to deliver content to NBC’s financial portal CNBC.com.

Under terms of the agreement, NBC will use Sandpiper’s Footprint application for content delivery on CNBC.com in return will invest an undisclosed amount in the content company.

Sandpiper’s Footprint solution expedites the delivery of material from content-rich Web sites.
With the technology, users will have fast access to all of CNBC’s business news and stock
tracking tools, the companies said.

“We expect CNBC.com to become the destination for an ever-increasing number
of investors who demand the latest data on financial markets,” said Bob
Meyers, General Manager, CNBC.com.

“As CNBC.com provides critical financial
information to its users, Footprint will provide a scalable and
comprehensive solution invisible to our audience.”
