Rogers Cable Monday
launched its high-speed Internet access product targeted to small
businesses.

The move is the first step in the companys expansion of the market for Rogers@Home beyond the current residential
user base.

The new service is designed for companies with up to three high-speed
Internet users who need the speed provided by cable.

“We know there is a high degree of interest from small to medium size
business in the high-speed Internet access product,” said Alek Krstajic,
Rogers@Home vice president and general manager.

The monthly fee is CAN$149.95, which Rogers says compares very favorably
with alternative currently available high-speed Internet access products for
small business.

One of the first commercial customers to sign up for the new service was
Ottawa-based 3net Media. It designs and
develops online communities.

“We were paying three times as much for high speed Internet access through
ADSL,” said Dan Cummins, the companys chief executive officer “Now we are
paying less each month for a faster service.”

Rogers expects to launch further business products in the coming months.

Its hybrid fiber-coaxial network, which is now more than 92% two-way ready,
is currently delivering high quality entertainment, Information, and
communication services to approximately 2.2 million customers in Ontario and
British Columbia.
