SonicNet Rocks On with Tripod

Internet music network SonicNet continued its expansion
strategy by today announcing the signing of a strategic content deal with
the Tripod community site, a
Lycos company.

Under terms of the deal, SonicNet will provide Tripod with its daily
Music News of the World and two Album Reviews per day. The music content
will be accessible through Tripod’s Entertainment Zone, the firms
said. In addition, when technology is in place, Tripod said it will provide
its page builders with the option of placing SonicNet’s daily news
headlines and
an artist page search box on their homepages. Financial arrangements were
not disclosed.

Today’s agreement will reportedly bring SonicNet’s music content to a new
audience of nearly two million community site users, and marks the second
such agreement this
week. Yesterday, SonicNet announced a partnership with theglobe.com.

“We are very pleased to add Tripod’s large community to our roster of
content distributors,” said
Nicholas Butterworth, SonicNet’s president. “This deal reaffirms SonicNet’s
position as the
premiere music content providers on the Internet.”

SonicNet is a division on TCI Music, Inc.
