Sweden’s Concurrent Data Dynamics (CDD) has opened a WAP portal, which the company claims is the world’s first.

Portal services include IT and business news, weather forecasts, e-mail access, and a search engine to locate Web sites, images and e-mail addresses.

The search engine offers the largest index of e-mail addresses in Sweden through the use of the Search Engine ALLT.com directly in your WAP phone.

CDD opened the WAP portal to bring online services to mobile users and to support the WAP initiative launched by Nokia and Ericsson.

The WAP services were built using CDD’s GRAIL software.

“Because of the versatility of the GRAIL software, we could build the WAP services in two weeks,” says Jan-Olof Granlund, CEO of Concurrent Data Dynamics.

The software indexes words, images, and audio files on a Web site, as well as software programs, movie files, documents, compressed files and e-mail addresses.
