Terra Tosses Sombrero into Mexican Free Access Ring

Terra Networks Mexico, a subsidiary
of Terra Networks, S.A. Monday launched its free Internet access service in Latin America.

Dubbed, Terra Libre, the free service is designed to generate increased
traffic at Terra Networks (TRRA) portal, which averages about 6.5 million page
views each month.

Terra’s free Internet access offer is banking on substantially increasing
its revenues in advertising and e-commerce resources in Latin American.

Terra-Mexico offers two different Internet access plans to its users, the
free service and a paid subscription option for additional e-commerce
benefits.

Terra Libre is currently available in Mexico City, Monterrey and
Guadalajara and is scheduled for further deployment throughout Mexico later
this year.

Terra provides Internet access services in Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Chile,
Peru, Guatemala and the U.S. for more than 1.3 million Spanish and
Portuguese-speaking subscribers. The launch follows on the earlier free ISP offering for the Brazilian marketplace, though there are no current plans to extend the Spanish-language free ISP’s service.
