    SAN JOSE, June 28–BackWeb Technologies ,
    a leading provider of push for e-business solutions, announced that it has
    acquired the technology assets of Mobix Communications Ltd., a
    leading provider of technology platforms for wireless data solutions, for
    approximately $16 million in cash and stock. With the acquisition, BackWeb receives all Mobix software
    technology and intellectual property rights, as well as key members of the
    Mobix engineering team. The technical team will form the nucleus of
    BackWeb’s wireless development efforts and will enable BackWeb to
    accelerate its entry into the wireless market with its patented Polite push

    Internet communications, commerce and media company, announced it has
    signed a definitive agreement to acquire eGroups, an e-mail group
    communication service that makes sharing interests, collaborating, and
    exchanging ideas among many people via email easy and efficient. The
    acquisition of eGroups, which serves
    more than 17 million members and hosts over 800,000 active email groups,
    supports Yahoo!’s goal to be the only
    place anyone has to go to find and get connected to anything or anyone,
    giving Yahoo!’s community of 145 million consumers powerful new ways to

    acquire OpenSoft Communications Ltd., of the United Kingdom for
    US$1.675 million. Upon closing, OpenSoft will change its name to WebTrends
    UK Ltd. OpenSoft is a specialized

    allows WebTrends to accelerate its growth in one of the largest eCommerce

    has signed a definitive agreement to acquire FreBon International
    Corporation
    , a privately-held provider of interactive video services
    headquartered in McLean, Virginia. FreBon is a leader in the transport of
    video, data and Internet-based technologies that support face-to-face
    communications over interactive networks and will strengthen Net2000’s integrated bundle of service
    offerings, providing a high-end ‘sticky’ application that will further fu

    BURNABY, British Columbia, June 28–PMC-Sierra announced the acquisition of privately held wireless
    semiconductor company Datum Telegraphic, which will contribute
    wireless system design and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) expertise to
    PMC-Sierra’s expanding portfolio of 3G wireless solutions. PMC-Sierra will exchange approximately
    681,000 shares of PMC-Sierra common stock for the remaining 92% of Datum
