Audio Book Club Inc. has
signed a two-year advertising agreement with go2net Inc., making it the
exclusive retailer of audio books on go2net’s MetaCrawler search engine
and StockSite.
Boca Raton, FL-based Audio Book Club also will be the exclusive retailer of
both books and audio books on the MetaCrawler home page and Marketplace.
go2net will provide prominent placements and links to the Audio Book Club Web
site, as well as banner advertisements on its MetaCrawler home page,
Marketplace, and StockSite pages. Financial terms of the deal were not
disclosed.
Separately, Audio Book Club said it has signed a two-year agreement with AudioNet Inc., making it the
exclusive retailer of audio books on AudioNet’s Web site. No financial
details were disclosed.
AudioNet will provide permanent placements and links to the Audio Book Club
Web site on the AudioNet home page, as well as its sports, business, music,
and radio homepages.
In addition, AudioNet will rotate promotional banners throughout the AudioNet
site and feature at least one audio book per week on both the AudioNet
home page and AudioBooks section. And Audio Book Club will receive audio
gateway advertisements immediately preceding the audio feed for various audio
books and other AudioNet programming on a continual basis.
Audio Book Club is a direct marketer of audio books through Audio Book
Club, a membership club that markets and sells audio books by mail order
and via the Internet. The site offers 65,000 audio book selections and
samples of audio clips from many of the club’s selections.
