Audio Book Club in Bookmark, Ad Deal With Netscape

Audio Book Club, Inc. signed an exclusive agreement with Netscape Communications Corporation to be featured as a pre-loaded bookmark in upcoming versions of the Communicator browser.


The bookmark will link users to the Audio Book Club site which boasts over 320,000 members. Financial terms were not disclosed.


Under the agreement, Audio Book Club said it will also receive banner placements on the Netscape Netcenter home page and Net Search page.


“This agreement with Netscape . . . is another example of our commitment and focus on the Company’s Internet strategy,” said Norton Herrick, Chairman and CEO of Audio Book Club. “Since the beginning of the year, we have signed numerous Internet advertising agreements with the top companies in the industry and we continue to see the positive effects of these efforts as measured by strong membership and revenue growth.”


Audio Book Club, Inc. is a direct marketer of audiobooks through its membership club which sells audiobooks by mail order and via the Net.
