Audio Book Club Inc. signed an advertising agreement with Spinner Networks Inc., formerly Terraflex Data Systems Inc., for promotion on
spinner.com.
Spinner.com, previously known as TheDJ.com, offers 100 audio-related channels, including 100,000 songs, and soon will offer recommendations based on user habits.
As part of the agreement, Spinner.com will encode, store and host two unique audio channels on its Web sites that will each contain up to five hours of audiobook excerpts programmed by the Audio Book Club.
Spinner.com said it will promote the Audio Book Club channels and its products on all of its Web sites as well as offer a direct link to the Audio Book Club site. Financial arrangements were not disclosed.
“Spinner.com, which offers visitors the ability to listen to audio content via RealPlayer
media streaming, will now enable visitors to the site to listen to clips >from a variety of audiobooks,” said Norton Herrick, chairman and CEO of Audio Book Club. “Spinner.com is another key strategic site for Audio Book Club to advertise on as it obviously attracts visitors who enjoy listening to audio content, making them logical potential listeners of audiobooks.”
Spinner.com claims more than 2 million listeners worldwide. Audio Book Club is a direct marketer of audiobooks through membership clubs on the Web and via mail order.
