New York City-based NetCreations Inc. has been
selected to build and manage an opt-in e-mail list for get2net, a provider of public Internet
access units for airports.
get2net will post registration forms on its pages to enable users to sign up
for relevant opt-in e-mail lists, which will be managed by NetCreations.
The get2net contacts will be made available only to direct marketers who send
out offers for products and services specifically requested by get2net users
who have registered for the targeted e-mail lists. When visitors register for
a list, they check a box next to a category, such as “business travel” or
“mobile computing,” that matches their needs and interests. Visitors can
remove themselves at any time.
“The get2net units reach a very unique and lucrative market segment, that of
the business traveler, who are some of the most qualified and responsive high-
tech decision makers on the Internet,” said Rosalind Resnick, president and
CEO of NetCreations. “By working with get2net, we’ll be able to offer business
and consumer marketers a large and responsive pool of tech-savvy professionals
who are eager to receive their offers.”
NetCreations will store get2net’s user data in its Web database, provide e-
mail delivery and merge/purge services, and offer the lists for rental through
its PostMaster Direct Response online
marketplace. The get2net lists will initially rent for 20 to 25 cents a
name.
