MyComputer.com, a provider of free Web
tools, said it has purchased BannerExchange.com in preparation
for the launch of a new free banner exchange service for advertisers.

The new BannerExchange.com will allow advertisers to exchange banner space
across thousands of other sites in the MyComputer.com network of more than
100,000 Web sites. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

MyComputer.com is a network of sites using one or more of the company’s free
Web site enhancement tools. Currently the network claims more than 40 million
ad impressions each month.

MyComputer.com’s anchor service, SuperStats.com, will be used to enhance the
BannerExchange.com network by providing comprehensive tracking and reporting
for advertisers using BannerExchange.com.

“BannerExchange.com will give members of the MyComputer.com network a strong
ally in their marketing efforts by providing an advertising outlet that is
focused on their target of small and medium-sized businesses,” said Josh
James, CEO of MyComputer.com.
