Zip2 Announces New Sales and Marketing Team

Zip2 Corp., a provider of
Internet platform solutions for media companies, named two new vice presidents
who will oversee sales and marketing for the company.


Assuming the vice president of marketing post for Zip2 is Bruce Murray. Murray
joined Zip2 at its inception, bringing more than 15 years of executive-level
management experience in both traditional and interactive media. Prior to
Zip2, Murray served as circulation manager and then as classified advertising
director for Newsday and (the now defunct) New York Newsday.


Shaun Doherty joins Zip2 as vice president of sales, bringing more than 14
years of sales and general management experience. Doherty comes from Cendant
(formerly CUC), where he was senior vice president and general manager of
Entertainment Publications’ corporate sales division, charged with building
high performance field and corporate sales teams. Under Doherty’s leadership,
Entertainment Publications (a Cendant subsidiary) was selected as the sales
arm for Microsoft Sidewalk.


Zip2 provides an industry standard platform that media companies use to create
the local Web sites, combining advanced technology with knowledge of consumer
behavior and interactive advertising. It currently serves 48 of the top 50
U.S. markets in partnership with leading newspapers.
