The Linux Foundation has made a name for itself, not just as the home of Linus Torvalds and Linux development, but as the premier organizer for open-source collaboration.
It’s a fact that the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) has also realized and after 14 years of producing their own ApacheCon conferences, the ASF is leaning on the Linux Foundation to product the next one.
That’s right, the 15th ApacheCon conference will be (co) produced by the Linux Foundation. Apache has over 100 projects in its roster, including CloudStack, OpenOffice, Tomcat and of course its epynomous Apache HTTP Web Server.
“The Linux Foundation strives to provide unique, collaborative experiences at its events. Our focus is on enabling community and facilitating the relationships that will benefit this form of development for years to come,” said Jim Zemlin, executive director at The Linux Foundation in a statement. “By working with The Apache Software Foundation and its community, we can use our expertise in events to benefit more open source projects and the broader ecosystem at large.”
The 15th ApacheCon will be held on place April 9-11, 2014 in Denver, Colorado at the Westin in Downtown Denver. The ApacheCon conference is also being co-located with the CloudStack Collaboration Conference North America
