Oracle Fixes 59 Flaws in Sun, Database Tech

Oracle has issued its third and largest Critical Patch Update of the year, offering 59 patches to address vulnerabilities in a number of its technologies, including a new round of fixes for the Sun technologies it acquired through the blockbuster acquisition.

With the release, Oracle is releasing 21 patches to clean up Sun security issues, including seven that carry the highest risk. Other patches address flaws in Oracle’s database and middleware technologies. eSecurity Planet has the details.


Oracle is out with its third Critical Patch Update (CPU) of 2010 and it’s the company’s biggest one yet this year, with fixes for the company’s database, operating system and middleware offerings.

The previous Oracle CPU provided 47 fixes for security flaws, and was the first Oracle update to include patches for former Sun technologies, including the Solaris operating system.
