Release Software signed an Electronic
Software Distribution (ESD) agreement Block Financial Corp., an H&R Block
company.
Under the agreement, Release will electronically distribute Block Financial’s
software product, Kiplinger TaxCut, through selected members of
Release’s network of more than 200 online software resellers. Financial
details were not disclosed.
“Downloading TaxCut from the Internet provides millions of tax procrastinators
with a way to quickly prepare and file their tax returns at the last minute,”
said Gene Goldenberg, vice president and publisher of Block Financial. “And
Release is one of the largest software distributors on the Internet, so
this new arrangement will make it easier for our end-users to find TaxCut
at competitive prices.”
Cable ISP @Home Network as well as Egghead.Com will be among the online stores
to feature the product.
Release Software acts as a distributor and marketer of software over the
Internet, keeping online store shelves stocked with digital goods. Release
partners with Web sites run by retailers, media companies, and hardware
manufacturers to provide ESD-enabled software titles and e-commerce services.
