Kent, CT-based online computer products retailer Cyberian Outpost Inc. said it has begun a
search for a president and chief executive officer to replace Darryl Peck,
who will become chairman of the board.

“As the founder of Cyberian Outpost, I am very proud of all that we’ve
accomplished since the company began operations in 1995,” Peck said. “Given
our tremendous growth and leading position in the e-commerce marketplace, I
believe that now is the time to add a seasoned executive who can broaden our
management and leadership and will further secure our position as a
preeminent Internet retailer.”

“I. . .believe my best contribution to the future growth of the
company lies in the areas of business development and strategy. I. . .look
forward to shifting my focus from day-to-day operations to long-term
strategic initiatives,” Peck continued.

The company hired executive recruitment firm Korn/Ferry International to
conduct the search.

Outpost.com, with a customer base of 300,000, had revenues of to $85.2
million in fiscal 1999 and last year closed a $22 million private placement
and followed with a $72 million public offering in July.
