Digital River said that
Digidesign, a producer of digital audio
products, chose Digital River to build and manage its new online software
store.

The deal enables Digidesign to sell its Pro Tools software, as well as
software from its development partners such as Focusrite, QDesign and Synchro
Arts, through its online storefront, the companies said.

A separate third-party online store will also be built to sell complementary
audio software products from vendors such as Cakewalk and Q-Sound. The third-party
store will be linked to the Digidesign corporate Web site and powered by
Digital River’s V2 e-commerce operating system. Financial terms of the
arrangement were not disclosed.

“Our customers are very technically savvy and Internet proficient, so they have high expectations from the Digidesign Web site as a whole,” said Brian Hageman, Digidesign’s worldwide manager of electronic marketing and e-commerce. “We chose to partner with Digital River because they are able to deliver
the cutting edge e-commerce solution our customers demand.”

Digidesign is a division of Avid Technology Inc. Products include CD-quality
digital recording, random access editing, advanced signal processing and digital audio
mixing applications.

Digital River provides more than 1,500 software publishers and online dealers with its proprietary technology for Internet delivery of more than 120,000 software and other digital products.
