Frontline Communications
Corp., a
regional ISP and national commerce company, said that it closed on the
acquisition of WOWFactor Inc.
Privately held WOWFactor is a Web-based marketplace providing e-commerce
information and services to women, focusing on women business owners.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
WOWFactor has an exclusive relationship with the National Association of Female
Executives (NAFE) to provide e-mail, Web and catalog hosting to its
150,000 members nationwide. WOWFactor also has an agreement with the National Association of Women’s Yellow Pages to
host its site and its advertisers’ business listings.
Both of these established organizations will provide an important distribution
channel for WOWFactor and Frontline Internet Access, Web design and hosting
and e-commerce services, Frontline said.
Meanwhile, WOWFactor said it selected Meta 4 Digital Designs Inc.,
recently purchased by Fine.com International Corp., to develop a leading edge
site for wowfactor.com’s relaunch.
WOWFactor was founded in 1995 by Margaret McGillin, who has joined the
Frontline management team as vice president of sales and marketing.
“The addition of
WOWFactor and Margaret McGillin brings Frontline to the forefront of what we
believe to be the fastest growing segment of the industry, women-owned
businesses and the Web,” said Stephen J. Cole-Hatchard, Frontline president
and CEO.
Founded in 1995, Frontline provides Internet access to subscribers throughout
the greater Metropolitan New York and New Jersey area, including New York City
and Long Island.
