The mainstream continues to go online. Now comes the H. J. Heinz Co. with a new corporate Web site that will “give users ready access to vital and timely information about the global food processor’s brands, management and performance.”

The creation of a corporate Web site is Heinz’s most recent effort to
centralize and coordinate its global strategy and communications, said
President and CEO William R. Johnson.

The Heinz site is designed primarily for shareholders, investors, securities
analysts and media researchers, not to sell ketchup and mustard. But there is
a Collector’s Club that offers an array of merchandise, ranging from a ketchup
soccer ball to a Heinz baked beans tote and a pickle putter for not so serious
golfers.
