Interiors Interactive Inc.
released “ii,” an interactive merchandising and customization product for the
furniture and home furnishings world.

ii represents a new wave in home design and furniture purchasing by allowing
the customer to visualize, experiment and custom design a room direct from
the browser, the company said.

The application lets a customer coordinate and decorating a room, then
immediately see a photo-realistic room design. Customers can then e-mail
their room to a spouse or friend to show off their room design.

“It is of paramount importance to make a user-friendly product that provides
the consumer with an easy-to-follow experience,” said Michelle Bourdelais,
founder and chief executive officer of Interiors Interactive.

Drag-and-drop technology allows users to customize furniture styles,
accessories, colors, fabrics, wood grains, fabric trims, and other options
for a given room.

Consumers have the option of making their own selections
with the “Choose Items” or they can use “Recommends” for a
professionally-decorated room by a given vendor or Web site.

For example, consumers can view a fully decorated living room and click to
change the brown leather to tan.

The customer chooses the item’s angling and
positioning, color, style, pattern and angle set in the room. The “Render”
feature allows a photo version of the entire custom designed room.
The application will be licensed to companies for channel Web based product
applications.
