Seattle-based TechWave Inc., an electronic commerce
software and distribution company, said that more than 75 new software
publishers are now using TechWave’s patent-pending Digital Container
technology for electronic software distribution (ESD).
Companies such as Design Intelligence, Installshield, Intuit, and McAfee are
among the companies working with TechWave to market and sell their software
products securely over the Internet and commercial online networks.
In addition, these 75 client companies have agreed to sell their products
through TechWave’s Electronic Commerce Distribution Network of more than 50
online stores.
TechWave’s Digital Container is a secure software mechanism that travels with
digital content during a download. It gives software publishers, digital
content providers, distributors, and resellers added flexibility because it
doesn’t just “wrap” products for a single download or purchase.
Instead, it communicates to a server to enforce business rules such as
dynamic pricing, dynamic marketing, and methods for secure online buying,
try-before-you-buy, rentals and subscriptions.
