TELUS Chooses BroadVision Apps

BroadVision said that Canada’s TELUS
Interactive Commerce Service signed on to use its capabilities services for
the company’s new TELUS
business-to-business e-commerce operation.

The TELUS service, launched April 1, takes advantage of BroadVision’s
capabilities to build one-to-one relationships with TELUS’ business
customers in a service-bureau model. TELUS is Canada’s third largest
telecommunications company and said it is the first in the country to offer
end-to-end solutions for personalized business over the Internet.

The new Interactive Commerce Service, powered by BroadVision One-To-One
Commerce, is designed to provide a complete, integrated, end-to-end service
with all the necessary components for TELUS’ business customers to manage
and operate interactive commerce sites, BroadVision said. Financials were
not disclosed.

Alberta-based TELUS is targeting the new commerce service to a wide range of
businesses but wanted to focus on companies with unique or varied customer
requirements and complex product and service attributes.

The first level of the Interactive Commerce service, called Interactive
Merchandising, is now available. Interactive Merchandising is a turnkey
service that enables businesses to embrace the principles of one-to-one
marketing using a retail store metaphor.

Features include the ability to establish and maintain an online
multi-department product catalog, and use advertising, promotions,
incentives, specials, and cross-selling. The service also enables users to
profile customer interests and activities to target content and maintain
customer preferences, as well as complete purchasing transactions in real time.
