Brocade CodePlex Takes Aim at vBlock

Brocade (NASDAQ:BRCD) is building a new cloud stack solution called CloudPlex, with the goal of simplifying the acquisition of cloud resources for customers with Virtual Compute Blocks.

According to Brocade, CloudPlex Virtual Compute Blocks are different than the vBlock solution offered by Cisco. The vBlock is a joint effort of Cisco, EMC and VMware.

Brocade’s CloudPlex is an architecture that includes Virtual Compute Blocks made of virtualization, storage, server and networking components

“CloudPlex defines the stages and components of a cloud solution, which includes fabric and our ADX load balancer product line,” Ken Cheng, vice president of Service Provider Products at Brocade told InternetNews.com.
