NGINX Expands Commercial Support Options

The open source nginx web server has been gaining in popularity in recent months. According to at least one survey, nginx is now in fact the second most popular web server used for active domains.

The commercial entity behind nginx is now hoping to further advance their footprint with new commercial support offerings.

“We are announcing a new version of the commercial support options available on NGINX.com,” Andrew Alexeev, co-founder of NGINX, told InternetNews.com. “Quarterly based contracts available are available as part of this new commercial support offerings.”

The new support offerings include an Essential, Advanced and a Premium offering with varying degrees of service. The Premium services provide 24×7 support for an unlimited number of servers with a response time of 4 hours or less. That level of services comes at a cost of $70,000 a year. In contrast, the Essential service provides support for up to 10 servers with a response time of 24 hours and a yearly cost of $12,000.
