Storage management software and services providerAlphaStor(TM) today announced that it has expanded server support for the 1.3 release of its AlphaStor product suite to include Windows(R) 2000.

“The 1.3 release of AlphaStor provides our customers with greater alternatives in choosing servers, libraries, and drives,” stated Denise Reier, Vice President of Marketing for AlphaStor. “With AlphaStor, NetWorker users can make decisions based on their business strategy, rather than based on the requirements of their backup software.”

The AlphaStor suite, according to company, is an enterprise media management software solution that provides expanded functionality to traditional backup applications. AlphaStor’s “out of the box” support for Legato NetWorker enables NetWorker users to utilize and share existing tape device and library resources across multiple backup servers, storage nodes, and data zones, and to reduce costly downtime due to misplaced off-site tapes.
