StorageTek(R) (Storage Technology Corp.) and Avalon Consulting Group, an EMC Company, a have certified StorageTek automated tape libraries and drives for use with Avalon’s flagship product, AAMtape. As a result of the certification efforts, StorageTek has developed a process that it said easily integrates Avalon’s AAMtape and StorageTek tape automation products into a broadcast environment.
The companies said the combination of StorageTek’s 32-year tradition of innovation in the digital information storage marketplace and Avalon’s industry leading, fully distributed data storage management application gives broadcast and media customers a cost-effective and efficient architecture to manage virtually unlimited amounts of video, audio or any digital media.
The certification ensures broadcasters that StorageTek’s s tape products will integrate smoothly into existing architectures that utilize the Avalon AAM technology. The goal is to provide broadcasters with flexible storage and intelligent control for program material, news footage, commercial spots, interstitials and more.
