Computer Products Distributor Starts Storage Group

The North American Computer Products group of Arrow Electronics, Inc. announced that fourteen storage manufacturers have signed on as partners in its Arrow Enterprise Storage Solutions group. The group is the Arrow operating unit that provides storage network solutions and services to enterprise computing resellers. The OEMs who have signed on are Adaptec, ATL/Quantum, Compaq, Crossroads, EMC, Exabyte, Gadzoox, HP, Hitachi Data Systems, IBM, JNI, McData, QLogic, and VERITAS.


Arrow said the Enterprise Storage Solutions group will include four multi-platform, interoperability Enterprise Storage Labs where solutions can be tested and evaluated, a dedicated storage sales force and technical staff, and a suite of storage-specific education and marketing programs.


Frank Berry, vice president of marketing for QLogic Corp, said “QLogic is working closely with Arrow’s innovative labs, sales and technical staff to transform technologies into real solutions that resellers can deliver to customer sites.”

According to Arrow, its OEM partners are investing millions of dollars in storage equipment, software and technical services for the four Enterprise Storage Labs that it plans to open this year.
