InterSAN(TM), a storage area management (SAM) software vendor, today announced the general availability of Pathline.
InterSAN said Pathline fully automates storage provisioning, provides and measures
differentiated service levels, and ensures end-to-end SAN security based on
policy. Based on InterSAN’s patent-pending Virtual Private DataPath (VPD) technology, InterSAN said Pathline abstracts the complexities of storage networking infrastructure, eliminating the need to manually manage each device.
“Pathline was created to overcome our customers’ most challenging and
expensive storage problem-managing a complex storage network in a dynamic
business climate,” said Chris Melville, president, and CEO of InterSAN.
“Pathline reduces our customers’ total cost of ownership for their storage
networks by driving down controllable expenses, improving productivity of
existing resources, and giving them crucial control over the storage
technology they need but are increasingly challenged to manage — Pathline
puts the power to outperform back in the hands of the customer, right where it
has to be to lower costs and grow the business.”
Pathline is planned to become generally available at the end of this month. Pricing for Pathline is based on the amount of SAN-attached storage, the number of switch
ports, and the diversity of storage networking hardware in the managed
environment.
