Maxtor and OTG Announce Agreement

Sep 12, 2001

Maxtor(R) Corporation and OTG Software, Inc. announced an agreement to jointly develop tightly-coupled solutions that incorporate OTG’s storage virtualization software technologies with Maxtor’s family of MaxAttach storage servers.

The integrated solutions, based on OTG’s DiskXtender(R) technologies are expected to ship in the fourth quarter of this year. They will be offered as an enhancement for MaxAttach(TM) NAS 6000 and NAS 4000 Series storage servers, and as an upgrade for currently shipping systems.

According to the companies, the new products will allow the capacity of multiple MaxAttach storage servers to be pooled, enabling highly scalable storage environments. Designed for enterprise-wide deployment, they will improve administrator productivity and present virtually unlimited disk storage to clients across Windows, UNIX, Linux, Macintosh and Netware environments.
