McDATA Appoints VP of Business Development

McDATA orporation has promoted Peter Dougherty to Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Alliances. In his new role, Dougherty will lead McDATA’s Business Development and Strategic Alliance organizations.


“Peter has been an extremely valuable and versatile member of the McDATA team for six years. His talent and experience in the storage networking industry have proven very beneficial to McDATA over the years, and in this new role those attributes will significantly benefit this company as it continues to grow and evolve,” said Jack McDonnell, chairman and chief executive officer of McDATA.


Prior to the Vice President assignment, Dougherty was responsible for managing McDATA’s software solutions, consisting of McDATA’s storage area network (SAN) management applications and embedded software products. Since joining McDATA in 1996, he has held strategic marketing and product management positions contributing to the definition of McDATA’s new markets and business opportunities for SAN technologies
