McDATA Names New Vice President of Marketing

McDATA(R) Corporation this week announced the appointment of Richard G. Search to vice president of marketing. Search will be responsible for driving McDATA’s global brand awareness and long-term market strategy.


“Richard’s long history in the storage industry, developing and managing national and international marketing programs for three different Fortune 100 technology companies, makes him a strong asset for McDATA,” said Jack McDonnell, CEO and president. “His leadership will strengthen our efforts to grow into new and existing markets.”


Search’s experience includes 18 years with IBM and 12 years with Digital Equipment Corporation. He recently served as the vice president of marketing for Hitachi Data Systems’ storage business unit, and comes to McDATA from Dot Hill Systems Corporation.
