nStor Technologies this week announced plans to introduce its next generation of storage products at Fall COMDEX next week.
nStor said it will offer a special technology preview of its NexStor 4000 family of storage systems, which will be officially announced in the first quarter of 2002. The system accommodates 12 drives in a 3.5-inch high (2U) enclosure for a capacity of 876GB. It can integrate active/active 2Gbit (200 MB/s) Fibre Channel RAID controllers or active/active Ultra160 (160 MB/s) SCSI RAID controllers.
According to the company, the NexStor 4000 will be available as a JBOD unit, single controller RAID or dual controller RAID system. Users can choose from 2Gbit Fibre Channel or Ultra320 (320 MB/s) SCSI connectivity. Additional features include full fabric support, 512MB of cache per controller with write-cache protection, Intel(R) xScale 600MHz processor technology, and redundant, hot-swappable components for assured reliability.
nStor also said it will be unveiling AdminiStor 6.1, a new version of its software suite designed for use with the NexStor family of storage systems. AdminiStor 6.1 offers cross-platform support in environments including Red Hat Linux 6.1 and 7.2, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Sun Solaris.
