OTG Software Inc., a provider of online data storage, data access and email management solutions, today announced its new, patent-pending storage management and access software for databases — DiskXtender(R) Database Edition (DXDB).

OTG said DXDB offers a powerful solution to the problem of explosive growth of many enterprises’ large databases, such as Oracle 8i. OTG’s solution virtualizes database storage, reduces total cost of ownership and provides transparent access to both frequently and infrequently accessed data.

“Information is the lifeblood of business, and access to mission-critical information in databases is critical for a company’s survival,” said Richard Kay, president and CEO of OTG Software. “OTG’s latest storage management solution, DXDB, helps enterprises immediately access critical information stored in databases. This solution is aimed at industries that rely on being able to access information when it is needed most, including telecommunications, healthcare and financial services.”

DiskXtender Database Edition is available now.
